I've allowed multiple attempts for one assignment. How does the Grade Center determine which attempt to use as the score?

If you allow students to submit an assignment more than one time, you will need to edit the Grade Center to indicate which attempt should be used as the grade.

 

double-check to make sure you have selected the number of times students can submit an assignment by going to the specific assignment in question.

Click on contextual menu next to the quiz, and then select "Edit the Test Options"

Scroll down the item #2 and select the number of attempts you will allow for the assignment.

If you need to change the number of attempts, make sure you click "Submit" to finalize the edit.

Now hop over to your Grade Center and to the column for that assignment. Click on the contextual menu. Select "Edit Column Information"

In Item #1, scroll down to the page where you see "Score attempts using". Click on the drop-down, and select which attempt you want to be scored.
